At PACE-RI, we recognize the importance of social activities for seniors with complex health needs. We strive to provide engaging and meaningful experiences that have a positive impact on our members’ overall well-being. Our team is constantly looking for opportunities to create unique programs and activities that will not only make our members feel more connected to their peers and communities but also allow them to enjoy their leisure time.
To make sure that these activities are inclusive and accessible, we focus on modifications and creative solutions when planning social events or recreational outings. We understand that it takes a village to make these experiences enjoyable for everyone involved, so we involve our staff from all departments in the planning process to ensure that everyone’s ideas are heard. Our goal is to create an environment that promotes inclusion, safety, and overall wellness for our members.
- Virtual Movie Nights – Watching movies is a great way to connect and relax, but it can be difficult for seniors with complex health needs to attend an in-person movie night. That’s why we offer virtual movie nights as an option! Members can join from home using their own devices, giving them the freedom to watch whenever they feel comfortable.
- Exercise Classes – It’s important for seniors with complex health needs to stay active. To make sure everyone can participate, we offer modified classes that are adapted for different ability levels. We also make sure our instructors provide plenty of modifications to ensure safety and comfort.
- Mini Golf Outings – Going mini golfing can be difficult for members who have limited mobility or difficulty with balance. To make sure everyone can join in on the fun, we provide modified golf clubs and balls that are designed for seniors with complex health needs. We also provide assistance for those who need help getting around the course.
- Art Classes – Creative activities like art classes can be a great way to socialize and express yourself. We provide a variety of art classes that are designed to accommodate the needs of our members. Some activities include painting, drawing, sculpting, and more!
- Gardening and Cooking Classes – Gardening is a great way to get outside and enjoy the fresh air while cooking classes are perfect for learning how to prepare healthy meals. We provide modified tools and equipment that make gardening and cooking much easier for our members with complex health needs.
- Social Outings – We understand that members with complex health needs may have difficulty attending social outings. To make sure everyone can join in on the fun, we provide adapted transportation and help them plan for any potential medical needs that might arise during the outing.
- Virtual Trivia – Everyone loves a good game of trivia, and virtual trivia is the perfect way to make sure everyone can participate. We provide specialized trivia questions that are tailored to our members’ interests and abilities.
At PACE-RI, we believe in providing social activities for seniors with complex health needs that are safe, meaningful, and enjoyable. We strive to make sure that everyone feels included and able to fully participate in the activities we offer. With our creative approach, we are confident that our members will be able to find something fun and engaging for them!
